Hi all. My '95 540i refused to start on Friday. I had it towed to a BMW mechanic today. He called me and said that he can see that the fuel pump isn't getting activated. But when he tried to access the DME, it refused the connection. He thinks this could be due to a short-circuit on one of the systems. So he's going to have to start disconnecting systems until he can access the DME -- a time consuming process. He estimates $240 before he'll know what's up.
Has anyone else seen this problem? Does it sound right? I couldn't find a posting about this. Thanks.
