Help..I have a 1993 325I with a most recent slight overheat problem. I have replaced the waterpump with a metal propellar, I changed the expansion tank and hose and added BMW coolant. The car ran fine for about two weeks..Most recently the check coolant signal has been coming on. I check the coolant level everday and sometimes its fine other days the coolant is low, which I bring back to the right level. The temp gauge doesnt reach the 3/4 mark but reaches right beneath it usually after a long drive and when I come to a stop and when I begin driving again then the temp drops down to mid level. I bled the system again and for a few days it was fine and now back to checking the coolant everday..Help..The oil isnt a creamy and I see no apparent leaks. Im not sure if its the headgasket or something minor like bad stat..Help quick its hot in TX

Sounds like your coolant is boiling away. This would be due to a lack of pressure in the system. If you have a compression tester, test the compression on each cylinder. If the compression is too low on any cylinder, that's probably the culprit. If compression is normal, it could be the thermostat, hoses, or radiator itself.

Well since you're having to add coolant, (I'm assuming you added the right amount of coolant when you changed the water pump out) then you obviously have a leak somewhere and the best way to find it is to have the cooling system pressure tested for leaks.

I would check the system for leaks and blockages. It MAY be something as a simple blockage and its getting out through the overflow.
Make sure that the system was properly bled to ensure that all the air was out. You could have airpockets and every time you drive, it reduces some air content thus dropping the coolent level.
Also, check the usual ofenders like oil in water and visa versa.
I also think it wouldnt hurt for you to check all hose as somone else has already said.
Dont be surprised if it is a head tho.
Take care, happy Bimmering..
