View Full Version : BMW, come on!
I'm ready for a 1-Series coupe here in the US. Just give me an idea of what it is going to look like and enough of a heads up so I can be the 1st one to put a deposit down. :bigpimp:

Anyone notice the new Roundel says the M2 will get the S54 motor? Previously I'd heard it was a tuned 3.0L from the E90.

Roundel = not a very reliable source, at least not lately.

I just think of them as like 6 months out of date, rather than unreliable.
I'd rather see a more modern, more fuel efficient magnesium block motor for the M2, if it's gonna be only 300 hp. You know the S54 would be detuned in the M2 anyway.

You won't find a valvetronic engine in a new M car. Apparently, due to the way valvetronic manipulates the throttle and such that M feels that valvetronic alters the engine enough to not fall in line with traditional M engines.

yeah s54 is a iron block so I assume it is on the heavier side, m2 deserves a light engine. Still a bit worried on the longterm reliabilty of the magniesium block

I don't want the S54, too unreliable.
