WTF? :D
I drive 95% of the time in the city and now i managed to get it at 11mpg. Do you mean stoplight to stoplight with some quick accels to pass other cars or city as in get on the "highway" (those bridge type roads you have) cruise to your exit and get home?

The Latter. A few stops (10-15 Miles) then on to the main stream roads but even then I run into on average (10-15) stop and go as you describe on a daily basis.
Not that this matters much but I put in a K&N Filter and Tornado. I use them both on my 745Li and I get 21MPG. On a full tank (420-500MLS) It's pretty damn good for a v8, 325H, 330ftpd od tq.
I hope this helps.

My average on a tank of gas is around 22 here in the states. My drive is 9 miles with no stop and go. When I was in Germany with lotsa stop and go, it was around 15. When I am on the highway doing the speed limit I can get 25-28 mpg. When I was in Germany driving at 130 -150 mph, my mileage was around 12 -15 mpg. The amount of mileage is directly proportional to how deeply your foot is embedded into the accelerator!

Just came back from a long trip. City is 20l/100km (~11.8mpg) and there's nothing i can do about that one :)
However on the highway doing around 255 + country roads with loads of overtaking at WOT i got around 15l/100km witch would be around 16.x mpg.
Steady driving at 120km/h using the cruise control averaged about 11.5l/100km witch would be around 20.4mpg

My first tank of gas averaged 14.7 both city and highway.
We'll see if it gets better after a few more tanks.

Dude, I got the same exact car, with sound package, and all the other options... really upped the price by like 20k. :) I really think the car looks really special with this color. It looks good in the other colors, but the Atlantic Blue makes it stand out.

I get alot better than that. But, I don't think we purchase these cars with fuel economy in mind. I love my car lots, but gas prices will never go down. I read about 2 years ago in Discover, American Scientist, and Scientific American, that the end of easy access oil is near, and it is/has happened in 2004-2005. To make matters worse, China needs lots of oil too. Makes me think in the back of my mind a couple of times a week, that I might have made a mistake buying the car that I did. I wouldn't be surprised to see gas go up to $3/gallon for 93 octane. (That's what I put in my car.)

I'm getting around 21mpg (proper British gallons :p ) but since petrol here costs £.90 /litre, i.e. $1.65/litre, any mileage problems that you guys have are always going to make me smile. Plus the fact that the cars are also more expensive to start off with...

1 litre = around 0.9 EUR here.

20.4 calculated average with 70/30 mix of hiwy/town (no city where I am) at just under 7k miles total. iDrive says 21.1. The higher my average speed the higher my tank mileage.
