Gary, I am getting close to buying tires for all three BMWs (and the Jeep, but I know what I want for it).

You guys need to run a tire test, in the BMW 330s between the following tires:

Michelin Pilot Sport PS2
Kumho MX
Goodyear F1 GS-D3
Yokohama ADVAN Neova AD07

Maybe, BF Goodrich KD also

And maybe one of the Bridgestones, SO-3 or RE050

Get on it, so I can decide which tires for which car. :) 3 sets of tires hang in the balance. The E46 M3 needs good all around, high end tires. The LTW needs great wet tires (street and wet autocross), and the Roadster needs a nice tire (currently has Yoko AVS Intemediates).

BTW what is it I do so you get the credit if I order online? I am going to order a set of 18" wheels (probably AT PItalia Presas) and Yokohama G052 tires for our Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Unfortunately testing has been pretty limited this year for a variety of reasons I can't get into, sorry. I'll pass on this suggestion for sure.

If you end up ordering online, just reference 'bimmerfest/Gary' as your 'previous contact' and I'll be sure the forum gets their share of the proceeds as an affiliate.

Well at least you have a new test of the Yok and the KD and the MX. Adn not long ago you did the PS2 and F1 GS-D3, so comparing the two tests would be a good start. Since you have the Goodyear RSA as a control in both tests, you can normalize the tires from both tests.

The subjective ratings are the same for the RSA in both test, so you can compare the results directly. Looking at just the overall ratings (I can't/don't want to figure out how to graft them in Excel) you get:

Tire Real World Dry Wet
Neova AD07 6.86 8.60 7.04
Goodrich KD 6.48 8.51 6.53
Kumho MX 6.65 8.38 6.57
Michelin PS2 6.74 8.34 8.16
Bridge RE050 6.65 8.06 7.97
Goodyear F1 6.78 8.23 8.09

For performance as a percentage of the control tire in each test set:
Dry Wet
Tire Slalom Lap Braking G Slalom Lap Braking G
Neova AD07 96.03 96.5 80.3 105.49 94.21 95.26 94.8 107.89
Goodrch KD 96.5 97.48 83.8 105.49 100.21 99.79 104.5 100
Kumho MX 97.66 97.97 86.3 104.4 100.21 99.12 101.4 102.63
Bridge RE050 98.37 97.73 82.6 103.33 95.24 94.46 108.43
Michelin PS2 96.27 97.37 84.6 105.56 95.67 94.19 109.64
Gooodyear F1 97.9 97.12 85.7 104.44 95.02 93.91 110.84

It looks like the Neova is the new dry champ beating even the old standby Goodrich KD, but with much better wet performance. But for wet mainly, the Goodyear F1 GS-D3 is still the one to get. The Michelin PS2 looks like it is still the best overall, with the Goodyear and Yokohama close behind. The Kumho MX is surprisingly poor in the wet. The RE050 is surprsingly poor in the dry.

So for me, it looks like Michelin PS2s or maybe Yokohama Neova AD07s for the E46 M3. Goodyear F1 GS-D3s for the LTW. But maybe the Yokohama Neova AD07s for the Roadster.

What is also interesting is how good the Goodyear RSA is in the wet. But we are talking about comparisons with Max Performance Summer tires.
