Hi all,
I'm considering a new X3, 3.0, and have been quoted (through internet requests) a price of $500 over cost from 3 separate dealers. Is this about the best deal going now, or are people finding better prices?
Thanks very much.

I never priced for US delivery because they would have to order my X3 anyway..when I figured $1000 over US invoice, ED was still over $2400 savings, so even if I could get it for $500 over invoice I'm still saving $1900 doing ED and not waiting much longer since they didn't have the car I want anywhere. This savings translated into over $60-75 a month...

I've heard repeatedly that $500 over invoice is what most dealers are offering. Don't know if you could do better than that, but that's a killer deal already seeing as how there is $4-5k between invoice and MSRP.

I think it's a pretty damn good deal...
Were you able to find the exact car, color and options
you wanted at all 3 stlrs you received quotes from?

That's about what I paid at ******** BMW a few weeks back. I walked out of one dealer when the salesman declined my offer of $500 over invoice, and drove to the other to buy. The first guy called back the next day having reconsidered -- too late.
I will be happy to provide the dealer and salesman names via private message -- not sure if naming names is kosher here, but I will give mad props to the two Internet sales guys at the place I bought -- dealt with one of them previously when I didn't buy, and this time when I did. Totally straight shooters both times, no fuss, no haggle, no nonsense.

I'd appreciate that.
As to the question about colors and options, I can't find exactly what I want yet, but one of the dealers has promised that price on anything he can trade for as well.

Down here in Texas the Temple Dealership gave me 500 over invoice on my Pre-Orderd car. I will always go back to them because they gave me the best deal around.

Perfect. I will give the names of the good guys, and keep my opinions on the others to myself.
I leased from Curtis Hedgepeth at Valencia BMW. His boss, Robert Grass, is a straight shooter also. About six months ago when shopping for a 325/SMG they put the best deal in the county on the table without any hassle, after I had spent hours being insulted and/or lied to by others. I didn't buy then, but when another dealer near the west end of the San Fernando Valley turned down my offer on the X3, I went straight back to Valencia and did the deal in less than ten minutes (plus paperwork time). Tell Curtis that James said hi.
Edit: These two are the Internet sales guys, and they are authorized by their management to sell cars their way. I have no idea what experience you might have walking in the door and getting hit up by the first guy to see you, which is the mistake I made at other dealers. I suggest finding their email address and emailing first.
