how much of the warranties are void with this mod? Steering, transmission?

Any non-BMW approved parts will probably void any warranty. If the dealer wants to be "by the book", they can void anything they want, even though how unrelated the modifications might be. When I was working on this project, I have wires and circuit boards running in and out from the shift bezel. Still I brought in my car for a service. Dealer didn't make any comments.
Except for the wires, my harness is all made from original BMW parts. Check out the customers who have retrofitted the kits on my website. Also feel free to check out www.e46fanatics.com. I have taken my car to AutoX and track at Buttonwillow since March of this year. No problems so far whatsoever. I have tested out the kit before releasing to the public. 8 cars from Singapore to US to Brasil to UK are running my retrofit kits. Nothing but satisfaction.
Email me at paddle.shift@attbi.com if you have more questions. :)

Can you say Magnuson-Moss (http://cartalk.cars.com/Columns/Archive/2000/July/04.html) ?
They could probably get away with voiding steering and transmission, but definitely not "anything they want". Steering's even a bit iffy if the wheel is installed in the same way -- I don't know how they can say an M3 wheel doesn't meet BMW specifications. :D

Hi everyone, sorry I know I don't have a BMW but I did go to bimmerfest last year and I love BMW cars so I hope you guys don't mind if I frequent this forum every now and then.
Anyway, I have a close friend who has an E46 325ci automatic so he could, potentially purchase this kit, right? Also, (vince?), where are you located, and how easy/difficult is the install process? I'm just wondering because he has absolutely no mechanical/electrica experience so if he did decide to purchase the wheel he would need help installing it.
Thanks,
Kelvin

Hey Kelvin,
Did you attend Bimmerfest 2002? I did meet a Kelvin there this year.
Anyway, to asnwer your questions:
1. Yes it can be retrofitted on a E46 325ci if your friend has the round airbag. Otherwise he/she might have to buy one.
2. I am based in LA and I can do the installation included in the price of the kit.
I can be reached at paddle.shift@attbi.com, if you have other questions.

Hey great! LA is so close, and yes I did go to Bimmerfest2002, however I don't think I really talked to anyone I just looked at all the cars. I was obsessed over the Red Lotus..haha. So the Kelvin you might probably wasn't me, but I wish I actually knew people there so I could say something.
Anyway, so your paddle thing looks awesome, what was your asking price again? 400 dollars?
