I think the one in the E90 will look like the same.

Is that a high redline I see on the tach? 6750 or 7k?

Too bad it couldn't look more like this:

Audi RS4 Wheel (http://www.germancarfans.com/photos.cfm/photoid/3050301.005/pageview/photo/photo/1006/size/large/audi/1.html)

NO SH!T! I loved the wheel in my '01 S4. Audi does make a great steering wheel in their performance cars. I REALLY love the RS4 and the RS6 wheel.

Thanks, Norm

Had to be different then the one in my S4... that wheel was almost as perfect as an M3 wheel... almost...

Seriously the M3 wheel and the Alcantara ZHP wheel are two the best looking/feeling steerign wheel's I have ever seen. I also like the look of the E46 sports package wheel - but the rim might be a little too thin. The new generation BMW steering wheels are nice - but they have nothign on the E46 line.

after installing the M3 in our wagon and using it for awhile I think I actually prefer the original sport one, thinner is better :D more road feel. I do like the little knobbies on the m wheel though.

audi sport wheel in my A4 was nice, very similiar to the M wheel but little bit thinner, sort of inbetween the sport and m wheel.

oh to keep on topic, new m wheel looks nice. wouldnt mind that car too.

Really diggin that interior...the wheel, trim, shift knob and e-brake handle are all HOT. And are those cloth inserts on the seats? Alcantara maybe?

I agree and i just don't like perforated steering wheels, especially in a BMW.It just doesn't look right IMO.

Am I one of the few people that liked the original E46 sport steering wheel before they changed it for the M54 cars?

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=BM53&mospid=47712&btnr=32_0949&hg=32&fg=35

It was thin, small, and more minimal looking despite the buttons. I like how the E46 M3's wheel feels, but the wheel above just looks more appropriate somehow.

Perfect in Alcantara and in leather. :yummy:

This is basically the same design as the three-spoker in the E36, but with buttons. (The UK market only ever got the three-spoker; the standard four-spoker was a NCO.) At 385mm diameter, I found it too big, although the rim was a nice size. With the E36's 3.5 lock-to-lock rack, it certainly made for some arm-twirling.

I have that wheel in my car and like the apperence as well. However, I do wish it was thicker like the M3 wheel. If I could some how attach the rim of the M3 wheel to the frame of the original E46 sport wheel, I would be a happy man. :D

I completely agree! I have that wheel in my 328Ci and it's great. It just needs a little more thickness and maybe some Alcantra.

I had a '99 320d rental in France, and that wheel made my thumbs sore. Maybe it wasn't leather though.

That's interesting because I just topped 100k in my 3 and the sport wheel still looks and feels brand new. I can't beleive how well it's held up considering the wheel in my '97 528i was all worn out after 70k miles.

 Actualy, Bangle will be introducing a triangular steering wheel early 2008. He claims it is a further representation of his artistic genius, and it will take us commonfolk years to appreciate just how incredible it is  :tsk:
