I'm about to pick up my 325i and need to square out the lease deal, unfortunately the finance guy won't believe that the BMWFS base rate for the 2006 325i is .0025 and is currently quoting a monthly payment based on a MF of .0029.
The deal is on a 325i Manual with Premium, Sport, Xenons, Nav, Metallic Paint is 38770 MSRP but negotiated it to $37000 (with all weather and regular mats )
$0 Down basically and 15k miles a year for a 36 month lease.
Is there anyway I can negotiate down the MF to .0025...he said if I had proof that .0025 was the base BMWFS rate he'd give it to me and all I have is that post in the "Ask-A-Dealer" section on the forum. anything I can do here?

Wouldn't that be proof enough? After all, it's pretty detailed information, it should be apparent to a dealer (who can verify the info) that it is legit. You might talk to another dealer or two in your area - that tends to keep them more honest, I've found. ;)

Sounds like your dealer is marking up the BMW finance rate four points to make a litttle extra profit for himself. Only option I see for you is to tell him you know this is what he is doing and insist he not do it. You have to be prepared to walk though if he refuses.

:stupid:
You really want to work with a guy like this? I mean he has to make a living, but to tell you that it's one thing, when you know it's another..... seems wrong. Find another dealer in the area, and see. Was the deal on the sales price of the car that fabulous?

Just curious, what are the respective lease terms (monthly payment, fees due, etc.) for your scenario? I'm looking at a similarly equipped 325i with a 15k/36 month lease, and I intend to put essentially $0 down.
Thanks.

I recently had a similar conversation on my 525 lease. I put down $800, and got .00235 instead of .00220 July base for 525. APPARENTLY BMWFS ups the base when you don't put down alot and no security deposit. You can put down multiple security deposits to drop the rate, In my case $1800 would bring it down to .0022 - but I reckon I can do better with $1800 over three years than it would save me on the lease.

BMWFS allows them to mark up the MF by 0.0004. So if they are saying that it is the buy rate, then ask them to sell it to you higher, then make a complaint to BMWFS...

that's basically what I was told today, that if I put down some more money he would lower the rate, I already got a decent price on the car so I figured I'd just do the deal especially considering my cerdit is not so great either I was porobably lucky to get the deal I got anyways...all in all I'm happy and get to pick up my baby tomorrow...and then it's zaino time, I'll try to pics up

Offer to split the difference...he gets a fair profit and you get to take advantage of the nice cap reduction he gave you.

Try sending an offer to another dealer with the terms you want.
I don't mind a dealer wanting to mark something up; it's his prerogative. But to ask you to bring "proof" that there is a lower MF available is insulting and dishonest -- he knows doggone well what the MF is. Negotiation is acceptable; playing games is not.
