A couple of months ago, the small (passenger) side of my rear folding seat starting being a bit recalcitrant when closing it. It sometimes took several attempts and a hard slam to get it to shut securely. The release cable seemed somewhat loose and a couple of times manually opening and shutting the lock jaws with my fingers would make it work. Last night I came home, unloaded my bike and gear but when I went to shut the seat back upright, it just wouldn't lock. This morning, in the light of day, it looks like the alignment of the seatback just isn't matching up with the lock anymore. The top trim of the seat is hitting the lip of the seatback shelf rather than riding over it as it should, so the jaws cannot clamp down on the seathook. Has this happened to anyone else before? I'm not due for my next inspection for a few more months and really don't want to have to take it in just for this, but it rattles when not fully shut. Can I fix this myself?
