This is the price list I saw when I went in to order a 650. Notice no comfort access is listed. Anyone have any info as to when comfort access will be available for the 650?

They showed you invoice?

No, Sorry. I was just refering to the (retail) list of options and packages. They didn't seem to have any idea that comfort access was even going to be an option and obviously couldn't give me a timeline.

There must be an update to this pricelist now that HD radio (as of Oct production) is also an option. I know from my dealer that in March, when they do the mid-year update they will be adding the new tire pressure monitoring (vs. the current tire rotation monitoring). This is probably when they will add comfort access as well.

Any chance of retrofitting any of these things? The comfort access may have the wiring because of the fob and push button combo. A real tire pressure gauge would be great, too. And let's hope BMW was long-sighted enough to put in the wiring for the HD radio even if it wasn't offered as an option. Does anybody know??

I have just ordered my 650. What the acutal BMW rep. from greenville SC plant. told me was the comfort access is a supply problem. The supplier is not keeping up, in this day and age doesn't make sense to me. Also the comfort access will NOT be able to be retrofit at a later date.

Found this newer pricelist on SA's site. Note, they also mention Soft Close doors starting with March production. That was a new one to me! The only updates I was aware of included the addition of Comfort Access and the actual tire pressure reading (vs. the current rotational measurement). Who knows what other surprises are in store! However, I get the feeling none of these will be backward compatible with 650i or 645i current owners :(

Yea, it requires a special sensor and special door handles.

I wouldn't mind just having the start push button operate inside the car with the fob in my pocket. That's not too hard a retrofit. There's already a short range sensor for the fob there. Hold the fob close to the insertion slot and it will chirp while the door is open. I showed this to Beewang a couple of months ago, leading us to believe some retrofit is possible.

Comfort access... is now avaliable. on models in production after march 1st... that is why I ordered mine.. to get it with CA..

Also if you want a MSRP vs. the invoice price.. go to www.costco.com and SERVICES up on the top part.. and then in the first part go to autobuying select your model.. and the options.. and you will see both prices side by side... NO I didn't order my car through Costco.. but.. sure was helpful when I went in to the dealer with those prices.. and nice to see the difference... by the way.. I did ask for the costco price list when I went in... but they wouldn't give it to me... so I moved on to the next dealer.. finally went up to LA and got a GREAT price.. if anyone is considering ordering .. and can make it to LA I would compair..
