Light always on

I just got my 645 and the light for the "P" next to the shifter stays on even if the car is locked. Do any of you have this problem?

Sorry I gave u some bad information there in my previous post. It really does go out when the car has gone to "sleep". Sneak up on your car - do not open door - and peak in after about 20 minutes. If not out yet wait a little longer. The light should be out. As soon as u open door (or unlock, if locked) the light should go on.

Yup I agree with 'cobradav', this P light stays on for a little bit, even in E38's as well. . .someone got freaked out about this light as they had recently bought an E38....and I told him to relax and said that this is normal :angel: and yea it shud go off momentarily (20 mins sounds about right)....it does it in my friends X5 as well.... so its norm in most recent and newer bimmer models to exhibit this nature of behaviour.

Thanks for the info. I did confirm that it does go off after about 20mins just as you said. I wonder why it's on so long to begin with....
