View Full Version : ZCP wheel alternative question...

Has anyone actually successfully mounted 18" wheels over the Comp. Pkg. brakes? Opinions seem to favor the idea that they will fit as BMW would not be likely to provide a vehicle that "stock" M3 wheels (18") would not fit. I would feel better hearing from somone who has actually seen / done it before I order any winter / track wheels. Naturally the stealer is of little help on this.

Couple days after I bought my ZCP, I picked a decent 18" with 12k Conti from a guy in Orange County for $650. I have mount and inspected the car from the bottom, it fit just fine. However, you have to make sure that the alignment-weight should be mounted on the inner part of the rim. Otherwise, the caliber will grid against the weight.
I was driving with 18" for over a week before switching back to 19" again. Since they are a good portion of meat left on those tires, I am going to AutoX them until cord or close to that and order a set of Kumho MX for autox/track only.

18" wheels will fit fine.
The original M3 brakes were the same size as the 330's, so 17" wheels clear them easily.

He said Comp. Package, just a bit bigger than 330i brake. 17" will not fit but stock 18" will.
