I'm getting ready for eurodelivery pickup of a six convertible. Travelling with my wife and we'll be picking up a friend of hers enroute (Munich - Geneva - Burgundy area - Paris). As you can imagine my wife's packing mode is of the type that one would have thought went out of style with the portable wardrobe steamer case. And I'm confident her friend is the same.

I haven't been able to find exact trunk dimensions anywhere (other than volume - which isn't very helpful for luggage planning purposes). The line that is commonly quoted (and I suspect is provided by BMW) is one large suitcase and two golfbags - again not very helpful for this situation. While I could go to the show-room and make accurate measurements of the trunk space in the car I was hoping someone on the forum cold help me out with some specific dimensions or other helpful tips on size and number of bags one can fit in the sixer trunk (with the top down of course).

Thanks in advance!

The space is really very limited if you want to be able to put the top down. I have a large 24 inch rolling duffel bag that can fit in behind the compartment for the top. That leaves some some space under that compartment where you could fit one or 2 smaller bags.
Alternatively, I think you could probably fit 2 medium size suitcases side-by-side if they weren't too thick. I got my 645cic in Munich too - feel free to PM if you need any other info...

Thanks Bill. Leaving in a couple of weeks and will take you up on your offer to PM if any questions as the date approaches.

Was only able to fit my small roller bag (i.e. carry on) in the trunk with the top down. Had to put the wifes larger bag in the back seat with a seat belt strapped around it. Fortunately, at the delivery center they gave me some of the floor protectors they remove to put between the seat and bag.

You probably can fit two carry on style bags and one large bag in the back seat. Other than that, you're going to have to leave the top up.

Thanks Gary - sounds like that was a bit of a hassle - definitely worth going down to the dealer and seeing what works before leaving. Will post what I determine in terms of sizes of bags packable for our trip in case it's of help to others in the same boat.
