Program Active Cruise Distance?

Is it possible to have the active cruise control distance reprogrammed to keep a significantly less gap?

Even with the distance on the column reduced all the way it's almost useless in Los Angeles. It leaves so large of a gap that cars are continuously cutting me off. Wasn't sure if anyone had success with a dealer in reducing this.

It would be the best thing since sliced bread if it wasn't for the large gap.

No known dealer intervention that i know of. Same complaint levied by most users. None of those folks could get any relief. Would be great system but for those yahoos that must cut in. Little do they know they cause someone to brake and the domino effect is to reduce average speed over what could be accomplished with greater distance between vehicles.

Yah, I asked the dealer. They claimed it's set at the factory, and they don't even have software tools to modify it. Also, asked about calibrating the speedo for smaller diameter tires, same answer.
