M3 body panels are different. You can't (unless you are willing to pay way more than the cost of an M3) make a 325 or 330 (they have the same body) into an M3. About th eonly common panels are the roof panel, door panels and trunk lid.

And this does take into account all the differences in the suspension, engine, brakes, under body, transmission, differential, etc, etc, etc.

Whhy not just buy an M3? You can buy a nice used M3 for less than a new 330.

As Moderato said, the closest stock BMW you can get to an M3 look is a 330Ci with Performance Package (option code ZHP).

The Performance Package includes this:

no no no

you get a 330ci Coupe thats pre-facelift

you put Clears on all the lights

you get the G-Power front and sideskirts, (their on bavauto.com)

and a new rear apron with a quad exaust system

add the M3 Lip spoiler

M3 Sport Mirrors

get the M Grills from Bimmian

and you get replica rims or actual 19 in M3 rims then

and thats it you have cosmetic m3

PS: you might as well get an M3 Badge or M badge...

But if you put real M3 rims on it, you have to use 4 front rims, since the M3 rims won't fit since the whole rear suspension is different.

330Ci with the ZHP package is probably getting as close as you can to an M3 in looks. You could buy a hood, fenders, deck lid, front end to swap out on a 330Ci or 325Ci. I saw a 325Ci with the entire M3 modifications. What a waste of cash. If you want your car to look like an M3, buy an M3...

Hard to do the rear fenders though. And it still isn't an M3.

Doing it that way would be spending more money. Why not just buy a used M3?

I agree with the advice to buy a used M3. You'll be much happier with the performance and the non-poseur aspect of it, plus you'll have that insane engine rasping roar when you jump on the throttle.

Buy a standard 330Ci put 18" or 19" wheels on, go to ebay get some M badges and after market bits (eg chrome grill etc...) ... you're 80-90% there

Aside from what everyone else said, if you want your car to look like that, you are gonna need to buy those wheels.... Thats cool and everything, if you have an extra $9k burning a hole in your pocket.

everyone, he might not be able to just go about and buy one...not only do they cost alot of money, but the insurance is very very high, plus gas costs esp. these days. you have to take all those factors into condsideration.

I agree, but the difference in cost (especialy between a used m3 and a new 330) isn't astronomical. It might be a bit, but if you can afford a $35k car (plus thousands more in mods to make it look like an m3) you can probably afford a $50k car.

If he really isn't interested in the performance aspect, my neighbor leased a 330 with the sport package (i think thats what it is), and it looks awesome. Not quite an M3, but still very nice.

Over the life of the car that's going to cost a lot less than the M3-like mods to a regular 3 series.

dont waste money buying something you're not completely in love with - if you take the $$ you;ll spend in the next 6 months modding your 330 to make it look like an m and use that 6 months worth of modding/saving for a fatter down payment than u'd be able to do now. . . - you'll find a way into a m3 bro - just take 6 months of your life and save a bit more - keep an //mas your screensaver to remind you of your goal - you'll get your payments where you need em - dont setttle for less - this is not a dress reheasal - save up and then buy the //m - you will thank yourself for making this decision - just dont be impulsive and get into a car that will force you to wait longer for the car of your dreams - if you can afford a 330 u can afford an m - just allocate properly bro - good things come to those who save, work hard, and wait for the time to be right for best things to come

And if you try to sell your fake M3, you will find it worth LESS than a stock 3 series, and MUCH less than a real M3.

BINGO! The best spin on it so far. Save for the real thing. You won't be disappointed.
