View Full Version : 645 problem
I have a 645 w/smg. Great car to drive when its not in the shop.
In the last 60 days, i have had to have the whole harness replaced. The transmission locked up, i was told it was a bad relay. Two weeks after getting the car back, the transmission locked up again. BMW cant figure out why the hydrolic system failed and were the problem is.
I understand that just like a great looking gal, its high maintance but a new car shouldnt have such problems. It's starting to look like a lemon.
My question is, has anybody eles had these type of problems.

I haven't had this problem, and boy it does look bad. A few people have posted problems with steering rack. I haven't had that problem either, but the steering rack problem seems to occur around 22k miles.
I have a number of minor glitch problems within the first 4 months of getting my car, which isn't that that bad, but when you consider the fact that the car is brand spanking new, it really gives me some concern about how my car will hold up over the years.
Anyways, sorry about your problem.

What year is your 645? I have heard some horror stories about 04's but that the 05's seem to be a little more glitch free. The reason I ask is that I am in the market for an 05 but may push for a 650 if the 05's are having the same problems as the 04's

Sorry to hear you've had so many problems. MY 2005 645Cic has been 100% problem free. It has only been back to the dealer for an oil service since I picked it up! After having a huge number of 'bugs' in my 2004 545i I'm really counting my blessings
