Just had my car updated with 19.1 via my local dealer. Anyone else had experience with this latest and greatest?
I had this done to correct the nav/audio system randomly rebooting, and also the nav screen going a rather fetching (or should that be retching?) shade of green.
Slightly more worrying, my dealer said that there is (yet) another update just about to be released which "should help me even more"...
Anyone remember the days when the most advanced computer in the car was your digital watch?

Does the MP3 capability work now with the 19.1 ver? E90 owners seem to be having luck with this ver as it works for them but BMW says that the E6x series MP3 function will work only with the unreleased 20.1 version. Check it out anyway and let us know plz.

No, I just spoke to my local dealer, and they said that iPod connection would still be just AUX, removing CD changer, and only volume control via radio or steering wheel...
Roll on v20!

I don't wanna put words in AriciU 's mouth, but i think he means MP3 capability with the CDplayer/changer.

The following software errors were corrected with the release of CIP 19.01 (Target data Status E060-05-09-530).
Increased AL (Active Front Steering) sensitivity at low speeds under 30 mph.
"High Battery Drain Message" in CID (Central Information Display).
CCC (Car Communication Computer) equipped vehicles with telephone, call fails when dialed using linked sequence ("p" for pause) stored phone numbers.
The audio keeps playing if the vehicle is switched off for up to 3 minutes (until vehicle enters sleep mode). The audio cannot be switched off with the rotary knob. Only vehicles with CCC (Car Communication Computer) are affected.
Sporadic CCC resets (screen blanks out briefly and CCC restarts).
The "Check Engine Light" is illuminated and fault codes, 2882 and 2883 "Mixture Too Lean", are stored in the DME (Digital Motor Electronics). .
AL FC 6141 "Engine Dynamics Monitoring" stored in the AFS module
------------------------
No additional support for MP3 (on CD/DVD) other than what has already been released (nothing yet for E63/E64 w/NAV).
20.x or later probably in Nov/Dec with possible MP3 for NAV equipped E60-E64.
for spw1964 - your dealer is amoung the many MISINFORMED. Aux Input and 6 CD Changer co-exist in every possibly E60/E61/E63/E64 configuration ever made (when so equipped with the changer). Aux input is just that an AUDIO input - nothing more nothing less. Handles any device capable of outputing audio via headphone out or line out jack, including Ipods, CD players, cassette players, other brands of MP3 player, etc.
Christ what BS some dealers hand out. :bs:

Of course, my desire is to actually be able to change track etc on the iPod via the steering wheel buttons. As I understand it, not even Dension can do that on an E63 with Prof Nav. Having said that, I'd be happy to be wrong... :)

Nope, not wrong. Denison keeps putting off their so called iPod integration system as they appear to be having problems dealing with the MOST Bus. Probably cannot get hands on code, although I do not know that for a fact. Or they may be having problem dealing with the slow CCC processor which also seems to be a problem for BMW getting MP3 working smoothly with Pro NAV (all US spec have PRO NAV). Seems you get herky jerky nav when MP3 is running in the proto type retro systems. May take a new upgraded CCC to get all working together.
