Hey, I want to get under the hood! You want some help with a job? Let me know, I'll come over and provide free labor in turn for knowledge and experience.
I just paid a mechanic to replace my CV joint, I wish I could have done it myself!!!
I'm in Morrisville, NC and I'm not completly wet behind the ears: here's where I'm at experience-wise: (most of this has been on my Jeep)
I've got a jack and stands and am comfortable jacking.
I do all my oil/air filter changes.
Rotate tires, no sweat.
I've done spark plugs no problem, including proper torque specs.
I've done a window regulator replacement, the locking mechanism was a bitch.
I've done a front brake job with full bleed.
Things I want to learn how to do:
suspension work.
be able to work on driveline components (driveshaft, rear end, etc.)
replace t-stat when/if time comes
flush coolant (replace radiator, although my car already had this done with last owner)
anything else that I could do myself w/o having to pay someone!!!
PM if you need a hand sometime and are close to RTP.
