Dome Light Blinking [Archive] - bimmerfest

I have a problem with my 328is, my dome light everytime it comes on starts blinking after it has been turn off for about 2 minutes. Does anyone know what this means, and how I can get it to stop doing this. All I know about it is that it started happening after I replaced the battery. Everything else with the car is fine. Someone please help. it is really anoying, and I can't use my dome lights because of it.

Never heard of this but you might try disconnecting the battery for 5 minutes and see if that resets the "brain". If that doesnt work then try reading the codes with a code reader. Good luck. :confused:

aftermarket alarm?

I do not believe that there is an aftermarket alarm, but I really do not know since I recieved the car as a christmas gift a few years ago. I did start to think that might be the cause of the problem. How would I find out if there is an alarm installed on the car, that has been de-activated.
