i was smelling a weird odor coming from my car. i though it was some food that have probably fallen into the back . But i opened up my trunk and in my spark tire well there was oil from a bottle that wasn't capped tight enough. its was all over the spark tire well.

Now i was to know if i should worry about it or just let it maybe dry up.

If it were my car, I would try to clean it up, I really don't know what will happen if you just let it sit there, but I wouldn't want to take the chance to wait and find out.

CLEAN IT.

It's oil...it won't simply "dry up" and disappear. It will solidify into a sticky brown sludge and it will continue to stink.

Soak up as much as you can w/ paper towels. Then sponge down everything with hot water and a degreaser like Simple Green or Greased Lightening.

Get a bag of kitty litter and spread it on all the areas where there is oil. Allow the kitty litter to sit a few hours and then sweep/vacuum it up. Do this as many times as required to soak uo the standing oil. Use a degreaser for areas that only have an oil film. The oil odor will eventually go away if you've removed all the oil.

Good luck....JL
