I've been looking at a set of Recaro front seats with a suede insert to replace my stock seats. Has anyone had any experience with this sort of swap? The stock leather ones look nice and have all the memory and adjustment gizmos, but are just to slippery for my fat ass.

Recaros are nice... so expensive though. I think there was a vendor at the last Bimmerfest that had some for sale... something like $1500 each IIRC.... :dunno:

Have you sat in the Recaros? I would think they are even less forgiving of a fatty rear. :D

Time for some treadmill?

How about taking your car to a good upholstery shop and have them replace the leather on the central part of the seat with cloth or suede or Alcantara? That way you keep all your power adjustments and whatnot.
