Posted this in the E39 forum to no avail. Anyone know a shop in central Houston I can get my CDV replaced? I've ordered a modified CDV from Dave Z, and I'd rather take it to a shop that has done the swap before (for 2 reasons: they won't look at me funny when I ask; hopefully they won't overcharge for something that is relatively simple with the right tools).
Anyway, I'll drive out to the suburbs if necessary, but I live at Shepherd and Memorial, so I'd prefer something central.
Thanks.

Check this thread for suggestions (http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=91354&highlight=Houston+Shop). You can also check out Texas-German Autohaus (http://www.t-g-a.com/location.html)in the Greenway Plaza area. I have not used them but a co-worker has and was pleased with their work.

The shell gas station on NASA Parkway (Clear Lake) removed mine free when he changed out the brake fluid.

Thanks, I'll try Bavarian Machine Specialties first, since they are less than a block from my work.

I use both Matthew's Auto and Texas-German Autohaus.
TGA's setup is much like a dealership's service department, only with higher quality service. But unfortunately so is their price and attitude. Their old service manager/co-owner is a family friend, so I could afford going there.
I can't say enough good things about Matthew's Auto. They restore and race BMWs, so they know the cars literally inside and out. They are also VERY honest and friendly. Talk to David there, he's the man.
