View Full Version : Experience Using Wheel Studs??

Looking to go to Wheel Studs, just seems easier and more 'natural' for tire removal, etc.

These are from Bimmer World, I'd sure think that is a trustworthy development team, but wanted feedback from anyone who actually HAS THESE or USES THESE (or similar). Thank you!

^Bump...out of curiosity.

If there is any logical reasoning behind this statement please share. I rarely hear bad reviews of Bimmer World parts. I'd imagine these are very similiar to the ones they use in their race cars.

Easy use with impact wrenches, with no worries about cross threading. They're ridiculously strong, and I've never heard of one breaking. Hell, even the bimmerworld guys have admitted that the RRT studs are a lot better.

It's one of those things where if you ever compare them to any other stud, you'll immediately understand.

Can I see that somewhere? I have spoken to James Clay from BimmerWorld, he didn't relay that information to me. Thank you Nick.

I don't think they're saying it anymore. RRT split off from Bimmerworld, and there's bad blood there.

But seriously, just look at the pictures and you can already see that the Bimmerworld studs are inferior. There's no unthreaded shank for the lug nuts to align and sit on.

The unthreaded shank on the RRTs make it near impossible to crossthread. Turner sells a very similar design that's worked fine for me.

Well I'm not big on using my impact on lugz, so I have yet to cross thread one, and been doing this quite a while.. I can start them by hand, I don't see that as a reason to go from $2/stud to $7.50/stud (x20 for the car). I won't be going nuts with the car, and I would loctite it correctly. Just wondering. $40 for bimmerworld VS $150.. :)
