My 2000 BMW Z3 is of course out of warranty, and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions in terms of where to take it for service and repair. I have taken it to the dealership typically out of habit, but every time I take my car in for a service or to fix some minor thing, they come back with OTHER stuff costings 1000.00+ to fix each time. While I like the convenience of a free 25.00 car rental from the building nearby, I have to begin to wonder about the mechanics at the dealership and the ballooning quotes for fixing things that didnt appear to be wrong or an issue when I had it in the dealership 2 months ago.

Does anyone have any suggestions for reliable BMW work done here in the valley for service and repairs?

Thanks in advance!

hey, come & checkout azbmw.org when u get a chance.....a lot of the bmw locals are on that board (and i believe there has been a few topics about good local shops).

a lot of people have had nothing but great things to say about ultimate autoworks (in scottsdale airpark: 15650 N Northsight Blvd Scottsdale, (480) 922-1068 )....their prices tend to be a little high (but still cheaper than the local dealerships that charge by book hour).
there's also Bavarian Motors Limited in Phoenix: 2417 N 16 St Phoenix, AZ 85006, (602) 254-7380. they have a few race cars that they usually bring out to the local BMWCCA & other track events.
