What wheel and tire combination would you recommend for autocrossing an 325E? IS bigger better? or would lighter be better?

FIRST THING - READ THE RULES.

If you don't you may find yourself running against fully prepared cars just because you have wider wheels.

Street tire classes or R-comp tire classes?

In general wider is better, but shorter (smaller diameter is better), and lower profile (aspect ratio) is better (less sidewall flex).

Thanks, I have a 325 e which is pretty stock except I bought it lowered. I haven't autocrossed before so I don't know what class I would be in. Where would I find this information?

If you are going to run SCCA events, then the SCCA rule book. If you are going to run BMW CCA events, you need to find your local chapter and check out their rules. If you are going to run wiht some other club, you need to check out their rules.

But in general, you can prep to SCCA levels and run reasonably well under most other runs. And SCCA events tend to be tighter about the rules.
