I'm looking for Toyo RA-1s to use on the track. Can you recommend a reputable store in L.A. that carries them at a good price? I wish Tire Rack carried them...

TIA.

Ask Samir if he can help. He just set up a new online-store. :)

Raffi,

If you're willing to drive up to Santa Barbara, Ian's Tires will get you out the door for a bit over $700 (4 T-1S Proxes, installation, disposal, balancing) for the stock E46 staggered sizes.

Oops. I just read that you wanted RA-1s. I have no idea in that case, but these guys have brought in tires for me that were competitive or better than Tire Rack's price.

Thanks Andre. Anyone specific I should ask for when I call them?

BTW, are you going to Buttonwillow in 3 weeks?

Later.

Raffi,

You'll probably deal with Ian himself since he picks up the phone more than half the time. He's a nice guy, and it's a small shop, so there really aren't too many hassles.

I'll be at Buttonwillow in 3 weeks, and am looking forward to it. I assume you'll be there, and I hope the place will be just slightly cooler than h*ll.

Are you going to use the RA-1's at Buttonwillow?

I spent my teen years in Bakersfield (about 20 minutes away) and there are basically 3-4 month where it's not hotter than hell in the San Joaquin valley...Between early December and mid March, where it's COLDER than hell during those months (our pool would freeze over). I think we get a total of like 3-4 days a year where the weather is just about right. :(

Thanks Andre. I will be at Buttonwillow and plan on running the RA-1s if I can get them in time... See you at the track.

Hmmm, thanks for the tip. How much of a discount are they giving through the GB? I will have to compare their prices with local quotes to see if it's worth the cost of shipping vs. saving on tax.

Thanks.
