Those are gay and a hoax. If it REALLY gave 35 hp for 69 bucks their stock would be worth more than oil.:liar: Turbonator more like Liarnator

I've seen them on infomercials late at night. Never wanted to spend $70 to see if it really worked though. If there's a money back guarantee what do you have to lose? (except possibly voiding your warranty)...

Yes, turbonator have recently been discussed here. A search in the archives should return some results.

The concept is valid. Get the air swirling in your combustion chamber and you get more efficient combustion. Their application is worthless. About 3 inches past the Tornado the air is tumbling just like as if it hadn't been there. All it's done is create a little more restriction in the intake. The only way to induce swirl in the chamber itself is to design the head to do it. That's part of why the LS-1 and the derivative Vortec engines make good power.

I agree with tangent, btw loved the office space movie too, lol, the swirl happens in the combustion chamber, to provide proper squish and eliminate some of the ping and detonation in the engine, it is most likely a scam... thus too good to be true, it prob. is.

turbonator sounds bunk..... what about this "electric blower" alleges extra boost and h.p at the flip of a switch and it doesn't even rob power from your motor ????? concept is believable anybody got first hand info on this ??
:dunno:

Glad I didn't order that piece of crap :D
I sounded too good to be true. Instead of buying that piece of junk for $70,- i'm gonna get the 318is chipped at a well known Bmw chip tuner here in holland.
Will cost me about €300,- but without any errors.... Can't wait to go driving and cruising across the border in germany :D woooo speed limits be gone :D

1) If it's electric it's getting power from somewhere, either the alternator ir a dedicated set of batteries. If it's from the alternator it will cause additional drag when running. If batteries there's all the extra weight.
2) Most of these are plainly labeled at a cfm that barely matches what your engine pulls at idle, let alone WOT near redline. They also aren't designed to produce boost even if they are high cfm models, the extra pressure just bleeds past the fan blades.
There only one I've seen that's valid for doing a damned thing is this one: http://www.electricsupercharger.com/ and it's only capable of producing a maximum of 1.7 pounds of boost for your $600 investment. The eBay versions are pure garbage, they're usually larger computer case fans or possibly even boat bilge vent fans.

I agree the turbonator is a waste of money!! With the chip, cool air intake, and exaust you can get more horsepower without the turbonator.
