After weeks of test drives in the Porsche Carrera 2 and C4S, I cannot get myself to pay that kind of money for a car, especially when my M3 was excellent performance-wise.
So....the SO and I have decided to get another M3. I really miss the one I had and I am happy that a fellow fester is taking good care of it. My dealer gave me a similar discount on another, so I ordered an 06 M3 via Performance Center delivery.
While not a huge fan of the ZCP, I love the color and the rims are a nice piece. I have never had NAV in any of my cars, but she insists on it!
Pick up for 11/29/05 at Spartanburg: 2006 BMW M3, Interlagos blue with Black leather, Competition Package, Premium Package, Cold weather Package, Xenons, Rear sunshade, Harmon-kardon, Navigation.
Here we go again. Hopefully this is it for a while. The e30's keep me busy and we already have a 4 wheel drive car.

Hi RC:
I am in somewhat the same situation, I don't like the price tag of the competition package, however want that blue, the rims will be a nice touch. I came very close to buying a 04 this past week. I'll be talking to my dealer tomorrow or after that time permitting. I am surprised you are getting the car so soon. I was told that it would take about 90 days or so.
Did you get a good discount? I’ll try to go for $2500 off MSRP
Thanks,

I got just 500 over invoice, but it's because I know the dealer very well.

RC:
500 over invoice is great. The first dealer turned me down today. They would not discount the car at all. Am I way off by wanting $2500 OFF MSRP? Also, I am leaning towards wanting the car early spring. Is it smart to try to deal now, put a large deposit and only order the car in January?
Thanks,

You may be SOL if you bank on a dealer's promise to get you a car near the end of the production run. Feel free to call my guy at Turnersville and see what he can get you.
Ask for Matt Belcher at 856-629-5500. Last year, two buddies of mine got $2500 off on their M3's, but this year is different because of demand and allocation. He even shipped a car to Cleveland from N.J. for a friend of mine.
Make sure you mention my name!

Wow, congrats and welcome back. I have the exact same car except Cin leather.
Did you get SMG or 6spd? Btw, the color is a biznatch to keep swirls out of!!
Nice Subie btw. The new face is growing on me.

Congrats on the car. You'll like the navigation. My wife convinced me to put it in my 330Ci. The BMW system is not as good as her Acura's, but all the same, it has worked fine for me.

RC, congrats on the car... How did you like the carbon black/cinnamon? I was thinking of ordering that combo for my '06 M3 w/ ZCP.

I have a 05 ZCP in Interlagos Blue. I couldn't agree more about the swirl remark. Just make sure you don't touch the paint without a microfiber cloth. I filled up a few weeks ago and spilled gas on the car. I took one of the paper towels they have hanging at the gas station and wiped it - it was like I took 1000 grit sand paper to the paint!
You can only notice it in certian lights, but annoying. On E46Fanatics other people said it was just because of the dark color. At any rate, the IB is the most beautiful color I have ever owned. People compliment me all the time and even chicks can tell the difference between my ZCP and a regular M3.

I really liked the CB and Cinnamon, but I thought IB and Black looked better with the ZCP interior trim and 19" ZCP wheels. It's just my opinion. CB is a wonderful color but difficult to take care of. The Cinnamon was great and accented the CB nicely, but I didn't like the way it looked with the ZCP trim.

Sorry man. How do you like it btw. Fun as the M?It's completely different then the M. It's like comparing apples & oranges. I love both cars, if I had to choose one it would be the M3. The STI is basically my fun/winter car. :)

Here's a few more outside pics. I've replaced the front orange reflectors with the bimman body-color type. I have to say the match is not perfect but it looks better than the orange.

I also replaced the valve stem sleeves and caps with chrome / aluminum ones from Pep Boys ..$5  They cover the brass threads that are there.

car is built and in transit. I've tracked my previous cars via Wallenius, but I think the car is on K-Line and I can't track it across the Atlantic.
Oh well, time to go change the control arms on the e30!
