Will these rims fit my E39?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/17-CHROME-BMW-3-SERIES-M3-318-320-323-325-WHEELS-RIMS_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ43957QQitemZ800805 7413QQrdZ1

I drove down a dark construction road the other day and blew all four of my tires. and bent my 18" rims.

I need new rims and tires asap. A local dealer is selling this set for cheap and tells me that it will fit my car. Will it?

What is the proper offset for 16/17/18" rims?
How does offset work/what is it?

Thanks

Negative. If they have a high enough offset to fit an E36/E46, they will not fit an E39. The E39 takes wheels with a lower offset and larger center bore.

There is much more to wheel fitment than just these figures such as brake clearance, wheel load, etc.. best to simply ask a reputable wheel seller or the manufacturer of the wheel if the one your are interested in fits your specific model of car.

You can view the ones we have that fit here : http://www.tirerack.com/a.jsp?a=AB2&url=/wheels/index.jsp
