What do you folks think of this rim on a 330ci in 16". Yes, it does fit per tirerack.com. I was sold on the Italia Type 5 until I saw these. The rim below is a ASA JH3.

they look sweet. also, ASA uses BBS technology for wheel manufacturing, and thus the rims are light and very strong. u can even use OEM bmw caps!! (wow, i sound like a ASA salesguy huh... lol)

I think they look really good.
You sure they'll clear the brake rotors?

Thank, I like them better than the Italia's myself.
If they don't fit a E46 330ci, then tirerack will find out.:)

Looks good from the picture but like you I'm not sure how it would look in real life.
I'm pretty sure that the 330i needs a 17" since a 16" wheel can't clear the larger brake calipers of a 330i like someone had mentioned.
As you know there are 3 finishes for the ASA JH3 Wheel: Chrome, Silver and Bright Satin Silver. I'm considering the Bright Satin Silver for my Arctic Metallic 330i. Anyone out there has this combination or thinks it could look good?

If Gary from Tirerack is watching, would you recommend this winter package combo for the 330i? Here in Canada, I keep getting directed to Pirelli Snowsports 210 RunFlats. If not RunFlats, I'm directed to Nokian RSi's or even 'comparable' Finnish Gislaved NordFrosts for 20% less.
If you can, can you give me an idea of the duties that your Canadian customers are facing buying from Tirerack?

I'm not sure on customs, sorry. We're told to have you contact UPS for this info.
I can tell you that the 16" ASA JH3 has quite a bit of brake clearance for a 16" wheel and should clear the larger 330 brakes. We've had outstanding experience with the Dunlop M3 tire, as have many here on the forums. The Pirelli 210 snow sport should have a bit better dry grip and cornering, but with some loss of snow traction comparted to the Dunlop M3.

I've got the 17'' JH3 for my winter setup. (Sorry, no pictures). The wheels looks alright with the roundel centercaps on. I've actually gotten compliments about their appearance. I thought someone told me that 16''s couldn't clear the brakes when I was shopping around last year, but that was last year, and my memory isn't going back that far right now.
As for looks, though, as I said, you could do worse.

I really like this wheel and am considering it for my new 330i expected to arrive in December. I plan on using these for winter with either the Blizzak RF or the Dunlop M3DSST. Would the tire sensors still function properly?
Also, I see that this wheel is very popular on tirerack and can be used on a wide variety of vehicles. Are they all the same? If someone orders for a a different car would the same wheel also fit a BMW being that they are both 17 X 7.5? Or are the offsets different depeding on the vehicle you input in tirerack?

The offsets/fitments will vary based on vehicle entered.
All E90 cars that we have seen thus far do not use pressure sensors, but have an ABS based indirect TPM system which is compatible with any wheel that you choose.

Gary,
I didn't know that the 16" ASA JH3 rims has room to clear the larger 330i brakes. I'm really now leaning towards to ordering the Dunlop M3 Run-Flats now. What tire profile do you recommend for the 16" ASA JH3?
The trade-off is really the look and the "slight" performance hit, right?
Looking to put an order in as soon as tomorrow.

205/55R6.
Steering response will be slower going to 205/55R16 versus lower profile 17" tires. The difference is noticable.

Gary,
Question regarding country of manufacturing of Dunlop M3's for the purpose of duties charged? If made in US which I hope for at least the tires, NAFTA allows it to be duty free or reduced tariffs. I know the ASA JH3 rims are made with BBS technology in Korea for Tirerack.
I'm going for 225/45R17 on 17" ASA JH3 rims.
Thanks.

gary, how does the M3 compared to the M2?
Very few differences between the two, slight tread pattern change... just an update rather than a whole new tire.

Gary
Just want to confirm before I put in my order
I have a 2006 330i (E90), must people tell me 16" won't fit at all because of the bigger brake.
Can you confirm the ASA JH3 will fit?
Also, if I go for 17", the ASA JH3 is 17 X 7.5 I think, but it doesn't say what is the offset. Could you let me know it will fit my 2006 330i. I am ordering from Canada, and I don't want the wheel show up and they doesn't fit
Thanks

Clears up to 2005 only for 330i. Just confirmed it will not clear the E90 330i, so stick to 17" which is a 32mm offset wheel, confirmed fit.
