Interesting video. Doesn't sound like a V8. :dunno:

I thought the same thing. Tail pipes aren't quad either. Could be the 335i Turbo? :dunno: The sound from the waste gate may not travel far enough for the camera to pick it up.

Good point. I was also going to ask if anyone thought it sounded like a V8. Maybe it is a Turbo. If it's not running much boost the waste gate might not make too much noise.

Sort of sounds likje the S54 to me. I wonder if it's a mule to test the chassis.

I dunno, it almost sounds similar to the new M5 exhaust sound, as if BMW is using a tuned exhaust sound similar to Nissan/Infiniti. And, the engines are said to be based on the new V-10. Listen to it again with that in mind and see what you think.

Boy, it's really hard to see anything there. Web video really blows! I think I saw M3-style "gills" above the side indicators in a few of the drive bys. It still looks pretty cladded up though. I wonder when we'll finally get a good picture of the coupe's bodywork?

Have to agree, it doen't sound like a V8. There is talk of a turbo charged model line up. If this is the on road presence of the new M3 I will look for something else.

Quad pipes became an M trademark. With the E60M5 I was hoping for a bit understatement, but it came with the quad pipes again. Even the spy pics of the E60M5 had the quad pipes.

As for the coupe in the video, it could be both (turbo or N/A), because from all the spy pictures that have been posted till today, we have seen two different exhaust tip configurations, one version with two pipes side-by-side (classic), another version with one on the left and one on the right.

Which one is carrying which engine is still a mystery. But the car in the video is not an M.
