Since itís a little bit late tonight i'll take some pictures of the car in daytime since itís all clean. Until then, we have a 2002 BMW 745i, first all black one in Tampa. It's Black Over Black, of course, and with Dark High Gloss Burl Walnut Trim

Options include-
Luxury Seating Package
Premium Sound Package
Convenience Package
Xenon Headlamps
Electric Rear and Side Sunshades
Star Spoke 19" Wheels
Michelin Pilot Primacy Tires

No mods to the car what so ever, except thinking about getting XM Commander unit installed.
This is among, if not the best car we have ever owned, for now. :)

Anecdote- It's a great feeling to keep up with a Porsche 996 in a car twice it's weight going 140+ with Steve Miller blasting and then all of a sudden, the Porsche blows it's engine and you leave him in a cloud of dust. :str8pimpi

New 7 series owner here. Just put my order on in the 24th of October -- hopeing for an early December Christmas present! Not only is this my first 7 series, but first BMW in years. When I was active duty stationed in Germany (1991-1997) I had an '84 bmw 323i (euro) that I loved. Below is the specs on my baby:

2006 750i
Titanium Grey
Black/Beige Interior/Light High Gloss Wood

Luxury Seating Package
Adaptive Ride
Premium Sound
Comfort Access
19" Wheels
Power Sunshade
Active Cruise
Sat Radio
Convenience Package
Heated Steering Wheel..

Can't wait 'till it gets here. I'll post a pic when it does.

Great to see a dedicated 7 forum!

Glad you are back in the BMW market. You will love this version of the seven. It is without going into details, one of the best BMW I have ever owned, more refined IMO than the 745Li but a seven is a seven my friend.

Drink up and enjoy the ride...

2003 745i.
Sport package.
Convenience package.
Premium Sound package.
Power Sunshades.
Wheels: 19" V-Spoke (Styling 126).
Tires: Michelin Primacy 245/45R-19 front, 275/40R-19 rear.
Exterior color: Titanium Silver 354.
Interior color: Black V7SW.
Interior trim: Vavona Wood.
3M window tint.

It's still the best car I've ever driven. It carves corners like a knife and can keep up with just about anything. I still get a kick out of showing non-BMW owners the voice activated features, and they can't bbelieve how well such a full size car can handle.

OK, since I'm new, maybe y'all will forgive a stupid question...

How does one become "Officially welcomed to the fest" as opposed to a "registered user"

My ID doesn't allow me to put up an avatar and I can only assume it is because of my user status...

I need to figure out the whole picture thing for this forum. Until then, I'm "checking in" as the sig indicates.

This is actually my third E65... "third time's a charm"... following a disaster 2002 and a flashback 2003, both returned to BMW. I swore I would never own another BMW again, so I bought a 2004 Audi A8L.

Uh, that didn't last long.

So here I am. Smiling.

My 2005 745i Sport has been the dream to own that I was hoping for when I took delivery of my '02. Thanks, BMW, for finally getting it right.

04 Li silver with gray interior
Comfort Seats
Rear Shades
Logic 7
19" wheels
Sat radio
and everthing else except comfort rear seats

I've owned lots of BMW's and I can honestly say this has been the finest of all.

Not one problem - except for the finish peeling off the front door rocker panels which were replaced.

An observation - notice when the current design first appeared in 2002, many BMW loyalist hated it and were up at arms against Bangle and all Bangle would say was that when you move forward, some get left behind? Well, have you noticed the current crop of Japanese cars? They all seem to have copied the 7, expecially the new Lexus. Interesting validation for Bangle's genius, IMO.

The new MB S Class? A 7 clone.

Enjoy the ride!

I am glad to hear you have returned to the good side of the force!

I too went through an ordeal with my '01, '02' and was satified with my '03 that BMW finally got right.

Just for the record, 2001 was the first introduction of the NEW 7. I remeber because I waited for mines shortly after I closed my extended '99 540i lease.

John,

Welcome to the 7er family. Due tell us all the details, a quick story, PICS, etc...

Have you owned BMW's or the seven before or is this your first?

I currently have a window radar detector (Escort) and IMO it is crap! I am getting a Valentine.

In my old 745Li I had a K40 installed (Front/Rear) detection and it was great.

Doesn't your car also have armour?

Actually, I've just gone back through your posts since July of this year and you claim to own a 750iL (with armour!), a 740i and now a 745Li.

And you previously wrote that you are a student. When I asked what you were studying I received the most convoluted answer I have ever heard. And I've heard a lot of whoppers.

You also stated, on 12-12-05, that you were getting delivery of the 745, but didn't have it yet, and here you claim it was purchased in "Nov 05." And you talk about your friends in Dubai. And every chance you get, in your many, many posts, you seem to post just so you can tell us what you "own." Very interesting, Samir.

Do you really own any BMWs or are you simply a "cyber owner"? You seem to like 7ers. Good thing you don't own a 6er and a 5er, like you own 2 or 3 7ers (as well as other cars), or you'd be all over this Board!

Being a student must pay good money these days. Back when I was in school we had to pay the school, not vice versa. But, of course, I did not live in Canada, or in Dubai, or in cyberspace. (Your recent question to me about how much it snows in LA makes me believe that you do not live on the North American continent.)

A couple of months ago, when some of us on this Board good naturedly kidded you about the alleged armour plated 750Li, and your supposedly being a student, you didn't "get it" and called me "white trash," which is something no one living in North America would do. So, it's now starting to wear very, very thin. Ready to come clean Samir/Bimmer7? I'm not buying it any more.

Yea so whats the big deal with that.....
The particular 750 I purchased did have it....because when the dealer took it in for service.....the SVC manager told me its the Protection Series....and could very well possibly be armoured too..... :dunno: which is why I mentioned in my earlier posts......cuz I thought it was kinda cool to have a protection series
And just for the record I do not own a 740i? I dunno where you got that from....... :dunno: My third car is a Lexus GS300.... and a minivan which is for business use.

And you previously wrote that you are a student. When I asked what you were studying I received the most convoluted answer I have ever heard. And I've heard a lot of whoppers.

Yes, thats true Im enrolled in the University of Waterloo (www.uwaterloo.ca) studying actuarial science with finance option...and enrolled in a co-op program whereby every 4 months throughout my degree I gain experiences with different businesses by working in different actuarial and accounting roles....
In the summer may-aug'05 I was working as an internal auditor for SunOpta...and in the winter from jan-apr '06 Im working as a Pension Administrator.. for Tower Perrins....
...which Im sure as an Attorney that you claim yourself....must have heard about...
In addition I have family businesses which are franchise of restaurants here in Toronto .....

Yes, thats true I purchased my 745Li in Nov'05
I signed the papers and everything......in Nov'05... but my delivery was done last weekend which is when both my dad and I had time to go pick up the car
(The dealership took there time in getting the car ready for delivery i.e. polishing up the car, leather conditioning, new tires, new brakes etc.) ....
My insurance was finalized jus this week... (because it takes some time to process documentation after they recieve your new ownership of the vehicle that you will be insuring)
Around that time is when I posted my pics on the forums.....because that is when I actually started driving the vehicle.... because before that it was just sitting in the garage.....
and yes I admit it was a little confusing.... mentioning 'final delivery' in my previous posts up until almost jus a few days ago...but that was only jus because I was jus waiting to hear from the ins. guys.... and when everything was finalized thats when I announced on the forums that I picked up my 745Li....etc.

Also jus for the record.... the questions I was answering or asking about I-drive were because I had interacted with I-drive when test driving the vehicle in Nov. & while my car was sitting in the garage... I was obviously using the I-drive and getting familiar with the functions and features.....

Also, yes I have a lot of friends in Dubai and other parts in the Middle East because my family used to live there before......so I dont see anything wrong with having friends from where you lived before....... :dunno:

And about claiming what I own.... hey I told you on above what I own.... I have a lot of cousins and family here in Canada and the US... that own a lot of BMW's, Merc's, Lexus and the list goes on..... so mentioning it sometimes.... if its related to the subject being discussed is what we are here for ? isnt that true Malibu? :dunno: I mean I share my family's experiences sometimes what they have with there vehicles......jus to answer someother members question....

I mean what about yourself..... you have written every vehicle you owned in your sig since you were in a WOMB.... I mean holy....whats that all about :dunno: ... hey its a forum here you share your experiences with whatever you have owned or interacted with...... or currently own right?

Also, speaking for your self.... what about all the times you have mentioned all over the place so many times... that you and now your divorced wife met up with Pierce Brosnan ... and how she did a movie with him... I mean why?????? did you have to mention that.... what did it have to do with bmW'S??????

yes I mean when we were discussing the movie tomorrow never dies.. you care to mention it... which is because its remotely related to what we were talking about... (the 750iL) which is why i sometimes mention watever i feel like mentioning.... in that case my cars.... :dunno: because like i said earlier... its related to whatever im saying....

Do you really own any BMWs or are you simply a "cyber owner"? You seem to like 7ers. Good thing you don't own a 6er and a 5er, like you own 2 or 3 7ers (as well as other cars), or you'd be all over this Board!

I mean hey you looked over my entire history of posts and the pics I have posted of my cars.... you decide on that one!
I mean you really think I have time for posting bogus messages unecessarily on a bimmer forums website...if I didnt own bimmers? :dunno: I mean I dont know what kind of thick brain you have that makes you think that but I dunno I guess thats why I called you whitetrash.....but hey lets be straightup no one pretends to be a cyber owner.....i mean thats jus dumb :tsk: I wont imagine anyone doing that.....

I mean hey I have the entire family of BMW's like I mentioned ....my cousins and myself have all the BMW series there are out there as we speak in the market.... jus thought I would mention it too you.....

Cousin's

*Silver 745Li '02
*Silver X5 4.4i w/sport pckg '01
Silver 325i '06
White X5 3.0i w/ sport pckg '05
Stone Grey X5 3.0i '05
Red X5 4.6is '03 fully loaded (as it comes)
Black X5 4.8is '05
Toldeo Blue 745Li (jus like mine)
Blue S550 '07 (came in a few weeks ago)
RX330 '06
CLS55 AMG (Recently purchased...have no idea what color it is... still have to go and check it out  )

My Cars and my uncle's

*Toldeo Blue 745Li '02
*Black 750iL '98
*Gold GS300 '93
Caravan '99

Uncle's
Blue 540i '00
Silver M5 '01
Blue MDX

And there you have it.... I mean now I have mentioned to you most of the cars I have driven and what my family owns... so ill post some pics of what I own and my immediate cousin's X5 and 745 jus to convince your Malibu ass.....

Being a student must pay good money these days. Back when I was in school we had to pay the school, not vice versa. But, of course, I did not live in Canada, or in Dubai, or in cyberspace. (Your recent question to me about how much it snows in LA makes me believe that you do not live on the North American continent.)

Yes its true... I do well in my co-op terms and am able to pay for my cars.. :D
Hey... in our culture...Im punjabi....parents pay for our college... I dunno its different then what you guys do......but hey we as a family take care of each other... I mean my parents take care of my grandparents...and dont leave them in some senior home because they are too much burden on them......our culture is different....so please dont argue about that...because thats also one of the reasons I called you whitetrash if you recall from earlier posts....

and hey jus becuz its north america... i dont care... I mean no offense to other members who are reading this... I have nothing against anyone.. (please try to understand Im making this point solely to MALIBU)

but if some white guy comes up to me or for that matter any person even from own culture comes and criticises me to the point you have on this forums ever since.....
I would call them watever the hell I want...... I mean to question EACH AND EVRY ONE OF MY POSTS ???? WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?

Just for the record..... your behavious explains a lot why you are living alone divorced as a crusty old bachelor ...... I mean seriously whats that all about?
MAYBE IF THIS HABIT OF CRITICISING EACH AND EVERYTHING YOU SEE AROUND YOU AND BEING SUCH A NOOSEY JACKASSS... you could have been married like everyone else is when they are 60! :eeps:

If you are offended or feel angry well you know what you should be because you have made me feel the same way ever since I came on to this forums........

Just for the record... no other member has been so noosey and intuitive as yourself.... about whatever I have been up2... I mean hey sure if its about my cars I answer politely... thats what this forum is for but not my entire profile and life history

I lived in NA for a while....so dont teach me whats right wats wrong....and stop correcting my grammer on other posts....

A couple of months ago, when some of us on this Board good naturedly kidded you about the alleged armour plated 750Li, and your supposedly being a student, you didn't "get it" and called me "white trash," which is something no one living in North America would do. So i do not believe that you have a Protection model, what they see are the double pane windows, standard on the 750.

Well you know what actually you are probably right.. it might not be a protection series..... until I was told by my service manager.... when I was complaining about the de-lamination of my double pane glass windows.... which the service manager looked at with me when I brought the car in.... and he told me my glass was bullet proof... and possibly the vehicle might be armoured too..... :dunno: ...
Because he was telling me someone in Toronto got his 760Li specially ordered and got it armoured.... and said that it may be true about my vehicle too when it was purchased by the owner prior to me...
Which is why I mentioned it on the forums..... AND MALIBU... the :asshole: he is known for.... started making jokes, criticism and talkin SHIYTTT like he fukin owns this goddamn forums.....
Which is WHY I MENTIONED MY WHOLE LIFE PROFILE UP THERE FOR HIM ^^^^^^

I mean I dont even know the characteristics of a protection series... until you mentioned them.... but since I was told by the service manager... I thought I would go with it... and mention it on the forums..... but I guess he was wrong..... :dunno:

Just posting information that i know about the Protection Model.

Also it would not have automatic wipers, seeing that the windshield would be too thick.
Wheels would be 17inch runflats.

Sounds like your service manager knew nothing about the car.

I guess he didn't.. I mean he isnt in sales...he was jus looking at my delaminated windows... and was suggesting that the only way to fix them would be to replace them and since your car might actually be a protection series ... they will have to order the security glass direct from BMW Germany.... and then priced out what it would cost for 4 glass pieces... and it was a whopping $CDN5k + 1.5 labor per glass.... :jawdrop: and I was jus like I would rather live with that imperfection I guess then paying that much
and then jus on the side he priced out what regular glass would cost if it weren't a protection series (according to him) and it was around $1500 for all 4!

I mean I didnt jus make it up that my car was a protection series and was armoured and.... :blah: .. I only mentioned it on the forums after he mentioned it being a protection series... :dunno:

:dunno:
You know what I think? This guy knew exactly what he was talking about! Replacing the windows with the correct, STANDARD windows and charging you with a special-order and blown labor-charge!!

2002 745 i Sapphire Black , simply the best automobile I have ever owned. It doesn't hurt having a 100k warranty and svc package also. When you think about it the 2002 turned out to be a steal because of early software problems and BMW really has improved the car. It is truly the Ultimate Driving Machine.

2002 745Li. Purchased used in December 2005.
Lease ends one day before six year warranty ends..

Love it since it is the best baby hauler you can buy. And it is inexpensive too... (http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=122818) :)

And no, it is not my house. It is the house of the first owner..
