The telephone reception in my X5 is mediocre. I'm constantly losing calls or, worse, many of my conversations are garbled because every other word is cut off. I have a Treo 650 that was just ok'd by BMW to pair with the X5. The dealer said he would check if there was an upgraded bumper antenna available but I haven't heard back. Do you know of any other alternatives to boost reception?

No antenna will give you better reception with the 650, because there is no docking cradle available for it. You would have to physically plug the bumper antenna into the 650's antenna jack, in order for this to work. I have found that most of the audio problems (garbled audio, etc) that occur with my Sprint 650, are due to the 650's lousy bluetooth radio....if I turn bluetooth off, the audio on the earpiece is fine when I am in the X. Try using installing the pen holder in the cup holder, and put the 650 there, instead of in your pocket or holster. This placement seemed to improve bluetooth communication between the 650 & the ULF module in the X.
