And which wheel?
My Z stars weigh 17 pounds, and my style 18 round spokes were alomst 23 pounds each!

The only 16" stock wheels on the early cars ('96) are the Z-stars, correct?

UPS Said they weighed 19lbs each with box & packaging. When the 4 come back from Califonia, in 2 weeks, they will weigh a little more with the added copper & chrome plating....

Remember packing weight! :)
Actually, I have 8 of them, and that's what they weigh. I weighed 2 more of the darn things when I was thinking of buying them, and they weighed just over 17 pounds (less than an ounce over).
None of them were weighed with tire weights attached - can't explain the diff :dunno: - but apparently 17 pounds is a pretty dead-on consideration for this wheel.
As BMW wheels go, they are fairly light, and a good choice for stock class autocrossing without having to spend BIG Bucks.

OK - this is driving me nuts!!! :banghead:
I know I'm old and my memory aint what it used to be, but I hope it's not that Bad!!! :D
I chose that wheel for stock class autocrossing after weighing my own - then I bought 4 beaters off of ebay, and weighed them. A guy in Charlotte had 2 of them I started to buy, but was wary when they actually weighed 3 oz more.
I went and had a set of worn-out Kumhos dismounted this morning, and while I didn't have access to digital scales, I took them by a friend's business who has UPS Scales.
They are the dial type Pelouze scales. He put a 15 pound weight on the scales, and it was dead on. I weighed 2 of the wheels, and the needle was just barely touching the 17 pound mark - in line with the 16lb 14oz weight from before.
Please weigh yours when you get them back. I would'nt think the plating would add more than a few ounces or so....but that's just a guess. I may be way off.
