View Full Version : Your Favorite 7-Series Option?

OK, since we have a new 7-series forum, I thought I'd celebrate by starting a thread on our favorite 7-series options. Maybe it will help others who are considering which to get...

My favorites:

1) Comfort access. I didn't think I'd care about this one, but it is nice to be able to open the doors with the key in my pocket, and also to lock the doors by just pushing on the door handle. The push-button trunk-closer is also a nice touch.

2) Rear luxury seating package with heat, ventilation, and full power recline and adjustments. Just ask my kids, this one is worth the extra.

Now tell me this... You don't love the cooler box in the rear?

I love this option and it is invaluable for family (Kids) you know what I mean.

Soft close doors, and the power sunshades never fail to impress.

I drive in the front seat, so rear comfort seats don't appeal to me, neither does rear entertainment.
I love the keyless entry, soft close doors, Satellite Radio and Premium Sound. Rear shades are an amazing option, and I like the $150 heated steering wheel.

Accually the new M5 has something close to comfort seats and are VERY comfortable and supportive especially when cornering because of it's active bolstering feature.

Rear shades, soft close doors, premium sound.

Rear entertainment is so-so. Works great but it can't be controlled from the front idrive. If you have young kids as I do (3 and 5 months), it's extremely frustrating when the three year old wants his movie turned on and he can't operate the rear idrive by himself.

I have not not received my car yet but I was told that the DVD player can be operated through voice command. Not incorporating control into the front I Drive is just piss poor engineering.

It's kind of operatable with the voice command. True you can turn it on and select tracks via voice, but it can't start a DVD.

When you get to the DVD's actual menu, you need the idrive to navigate the DVD's menu and select "Play Movie".

Have the 5-month old do it for him! Actually, my daughter has been computer-adept since she was 4, so you only have 1 more year to wait.

How about a manual override for the dimness of the mirrors at night. Last night in the rain, I was blinded by the cars behind me. It was as if the auto-dim wasn't working. When it's not raining, I don't seem to have this problem...

(eek..this belongs in the wish list forum....)

I vote for the Luxury Seating Package components ( Heated steering wheel, rear and side sun shades, active driver's seat) and the Premium Sound system.

Luxury Seats with cooling, Rear iDrive with Nav for my son to play with, Comfort Access, Soft Close Doors and Power Shades...but my favorite thing (not option though) is throwing this puppy into a curve over a rough surface at high speeds and not feeling a thing due to the Active Roll Stabilization.
