On Sunday November 20th, the local chapter of the BMWCCA will have their annual Wash, Wax, and Tech (http://www.houston-bmwcca.com/events/WWT-VII.htm). I attended the one last year (http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=81219&highlight=Tech+Houston+Wash)and it was fun. Basically it is a communal car wash with BMW North allowing us to use the shop bays for waxing and detailing. You can wash your car or have the dealers's porters do it. :)

The dealer will have their techs available for any questions or help with any mods or self-installs. Lunch is provided and everyone goes home with a door prize. :D

Have I mentioned how much I LOVE your car?!!!!!!!!

Hmmm I dunno - Nov 18th is BMW's Austin Tech session at BMW of Austin. Aside from the car detailing thing, these two events might be very similar. Are any of you Houstonians coming down for the tech meet?

Yeah, I had the opportunity to help LDV330i wash that bad boy the other day. That car is in cherry condition.

Btw, sorry I couldn't make it up to Austin on Saturday. Had to play a round of golf with co-workers in the morning and do my Ice>Link install that afternoon (with LDV330i's much appreciated help).

Last year year there 2 ZHP's in attendance and 1 325 ZHP conversion (though the wheels were not correct). Will see how many ZHP'ers show up this time. :dunno:

The install went pretty well. The only difficult parts were: (1) running the cable from the backseat under the carpet to the console, and (2) figuring out the order to plug everything in and reconnect the battery.

I haven't taken any pictures because my eurotray doesn't come in until today, but I'll take some after that.

Like Ooooh my gaawd Becky... Look at her wheels They are so not ZHP. It looks like some RapStar's Girlfriend's car. But, y'know, who understands those rap guys? They only drive her because, she looks like a total ZHP, 'kay? I mean, her wheel, is just so little. I can't believe it's just so round, it's like, out there, I mean - gross. Look! She's just so ...jet fockin black!

I like big wheels and I can not lie
You other brothers can't deny
That when a car rolls in with an itty bitty wheel
And a Roundel in your face
You get sprung....

Hey LDV, the link says this is open ONLY to BMWCCA members or "new" BMW owners, I regrettably am neither. Any idea how strictly this is enforced? I am a three time buyer from BMW/MINI North. ( I know I should join CCA, just one of those things I've overlooked.)

( I know I should join CCA, just one of those things I've overlooked.)I think they do it more for crowd control purposes. I know some people did not sign up on-line (where they do ask for a membership #) but showed up and I do not think anybody was turned away. Last year they forecasted over 120 people but only 80 people showed up.

You have never collected your BMWCCA rebate on your purchases? :dunno:

As always the event was fun. The weather cooperated by having the sun come out so we would not freeze while washing our cars. Unfortunately this event had one of the lowest participation ever. Only close to 35 people showed up.

On a high note the ZHP's and the Imola Reds were extremely well represented. There were 4 ZHP present, 2 Imola Red, 1 Orient Blue (coupe), and a Mystic Blue. No ZHP in the ubiquitous Silver Gray was present. :p In Imola Red there were 2 ZHP's, 1 E39 M5, and 1 M Roadster.

Everybody went home with a door prize. The prizes ranged from BMW watches to t-shirts. I got a BMW jacket. :D
