Hi,

I don't have my phone connected since i have the 2003 745 and the motorola phone from verizon is no longer possible to activate. and the SOS and BMW Assist does not work.

Any one of you guys know a solution for this.

Thanks..

SOS should work even if you dont have a cell phone. Your car should be under 100,000 mile warranty - take it in to the dealership to have them check out why SOS not working.

You need to go get service because the car already has an embedded phone that dials the call center when pressing SOS.

Can you elaborate on the 100K warranty? I have an '03 with less than 100K that I bought recently and the dealer told me the car was out of warranty. Is it a certain number of years or 100K which ever comes first or is it 100K? Anyone else know about this?
Thanks in advance.

you need the btum 8000 which replaces that analog phone in the center console. this is a bluetooth adapter that pairs with a modern cell phone and tricks the car into thinking it is communicating with that phone. also, SOS will no longer function once the adapter is installed.

due to the initals quirks for MY 02-03 e65/e66s, bmw extended the factory warranty on these cars to 6yrs/100k whichever came first from first in-service date (when car first rolled off the lot)

got it... thanks. So most if not all '03's should be out of warranty by now under the 6 yr rule...
