I am scheduled to begin my journey to Munich in 27 hours. My dog, who has never been sick, has spent the last 24 hours throwing up. He's at the vet now while they decide if he needs surgery.

I'm sorry to hear that. Hopefully everything will get straightened out quickly so it won't put a damper on your vacation. Let us know how it turns out.

Pets are difficult to deal with when it comes to travelling- whether you are taking them with or trying to find a place for them to stay. Do they know what is wrong with your dog? I guess you can always leave your dog with the vet- how long is your trip?

Still in surgery

We actually thought of cancelling/delaying the trip. It seems that it may be too late for that, and with the help of some really great friends I think we'll have plenty of loving care for the little guy.

Hang in there. I hope it all works out. I know it's going to be tough being away from your dog, especially if it's sick but it sounds like you've got some good friends/family. I'm sure your dog would want you to go! Let us know how it works out.

Glad to hear that things are going to work for you. Try to enjoy your trip as much as possible; even though, I know it's going to be difficult.
