Anyone know if the conforti shark injector helps out with fuel economy? I recently installed a supersprint exhaust and conforti cold air intake. Ive heard good things about the shark injector as far as performance goes, just wondering if the ODBII software upgrade increases fuel economy or mileage other than the fact that 93 octane burns slower than 91. Im afraid if i upgrade my car will be burning more fuel with the skyrocketing prices. '97 M3 black on black 60K

Octane has nothing to do with speed of burning.
But running more efficiently can increase mileage, however that is normally more than offset by the nut holding the wheel who presses the loud pedal more to enjoy the extra power, leading to lower fuel economy.

Actually octane # does relate to flame propagation speed.

NO. Octane is ONLY a mesurement of the ability of a fuel to resist detonation. And detonation is caused by the fuel actually chemcically reacting inteh cylinder, under the heat and pressure to a chemical that will self ignite causing multiple flame fronts.
The old burns slower is an OWT.
