Just returned from the dealership 'cause I wanted to check if they could get me my car in March - and SURPRISE, the car I was looking for is already built and I'll pick it up in 4 weeks:

Although they wanted a $5K mark-up :mad: , I'm very happy that I got this car so soon and not in a year or so... :D

Wow.. Congrats! Where did you get it from? Reeves? Ferman has a markup at $25k, but after talking with a sales person there they are selling them at MSRP.

OMG DONT BUY THAT CAR! It was the tester for Reeves and they also took it to the Tampa International Autoshow and believe me, everyone, AND I MEAN EVERYONE, SAT IN THAT CAR! ALL THOSE SMELLY ICKY PEOPLE RUBBING THEIR HANDS ON THE CAR! OMG! There is liable to be some SERIOUS scratches in the car and defects on the interior. Sorry if I burst your bubble but I couldn't let you get a screwed up car :( But if it's not the one that went to the auto show, BUY IT!

Thanks for the info, but I doubt we're talking about the same car. :tsk: The car I picked is still in Transit and won't reach the VPC before 11/25/2005. Check out this thread:

Hmmm interesting, 1,000 M5's just waiting to be picked up. It will most likely be the same with the new M6 in May when they hit the shores. Man if I only had $100 Million for 100 new M5 just to keep in storage and then sold like 10-15 years later for HUGE mark up!

I put up 5K so I could order it the way i wanted. The dealer started at 15K but as the build date got closer he call to take the order. I get mine on Dec. 2nd.

BTW, what color combo and options did you choose?
Our car arrived at the preparation-center yesterday. I don't know exactly how long it will stay there but we're planning on picking it up on Dec. 5th. Although there's a holiday in between (btw, Happy Thanksgiving to all bimmer's!), they should be able to get it to the dealer by that date...
