See this thread (http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=11500)

On sale at Harbor Freight. Appear to be identical to the Griot's $600 one.

If you read Roundel's advertising regularly you may have also come across this:

Looks interesting. At minimum height it's 3.15" tall, should clear most BMWs with sports package...Maybe even SOME with lowered suspension. Definately do not need a seperate helper jack to lift up the front of the car. Also, the long reach would allow for easy lift as well.

I put in an inquiry about cost and shipping, as well as group buy policies.

The Kinesis jack is made by AC, a Danish company. Steve sells them too:

Ultimate Garage (http://www.ultimategarage.com/acjacks.html)

You will lose some of the 3.15" clearance if you use the rubber jack pad (and I would).

The aluminum one was not bad at 3.5" minimum. On Z3s, I always have to run the front of wheels onto ramps before I jack. Have not found a way around it.

Yeah, Kaz and I are exploring this particular jack right now. I have not found a jack that will clear the front without a helper jack either on any of the E46es with sports package.

Vince will love that jack though. It looks like it's in Alpina blue.

The long-reach one might be the ticket for this. If you look at the pics of the HLQ models, the low part of the jack is significantly lower than the standard one.

If you find me the name of the distributor in Maryland that Steve refers to on his site, we can moderately abuse the LeatherZ business license and get some "test" jacks at wholesale. I don;t think reselling floor jacks is LeatherZ's cup of tea, but what the heck. They are very high end tools, which sort of fits with the stuff we sell.

Jon, Kaz...Sweet! Thanks for all your "finger" work man.

I'll see what I hear back from Kinesis, but if they're just resalers then maybe it will be better if we go through LeatherZ for this stuff. Jon, keep us informed eh?
