Does anyone know how to take the wheel/tire off a 2004 M3 coupe. I have taken off the lug nuts but the wheel does not come off? Is there a secret to this?
Thanks

Thanks It seems like you wheel and the center of the axle have rusted. If you don't have the lead hammer or rubber hammer to pound the wheel from the inside you have to take your car to tire shop to take them out. It happened to me once. There's no secret about it. Next time when you get them out be sure to put some grease on it. GL

With it up on a jackstand, just give the bottom of the tire some good kicks. It should break free. It's mild corrosion between the steel hub and aluminum wheel. Use anti-seize when putting it on again.

You just have to kick the living *@(*#$ out of it until it loosens up. I learned this "trick" on my 540i a while back. It sometimes takes quite a bit--I had to do it with my back up against the garage wall for extra leverage. Of course, being a geezer, I no doubt hurt myself.

In the morning I guess I will slam it around a little and see if it comes loose. I'm just suprised it would be rusted on, the car was new last march and its only got 10000 miles on it. I'll let ya'll know if it works. I forgot to mention earlier that it has got the 19's on it. Should I adjust the approach at all?
Thanks
Is it a rear tire? Do you have SMG? I think you need to do some fiddling in order to "unlock" the diff (or something.)
IIR, I had to power up the system (not necessarily start the car,) then put it in neutral before it would let the rear wheels go; they came off relatively easy after that. Simply putting it in neutral with no power didn't work for me.

If kicking and ounding don't help. put ALL the lug nuts back on, but leave them a turn or two loose.
Lower the caqr and try to rock it back and forth.
If that doesn't work, GENTLY back the car up with a slight turn away from the side with the stuck wheel. It should pop right off. I had to do this with our Jeep this past summer to get the wheels off.
If you are not taking the wheels off twice a year or more, then put a light coat of something like wheel bearing grease on the inside of the wheel hub ring, and on the protruding ring of the brake rotor.
