View Full Version : Lexus IS stability control can be turned off?

I know many people criticized the new IS for having VDIM and no way to switch it off.

Apparently they used the method recommended in the Toyota Avalon manual to disable it, and it worked.

start the car with the parking prake on ....then foot brake twice....(keep the foot brake down)....then parking brake twice (keep it down )and repeat till skid light is on the dash.....it will reset when you restart the car

I prefer the method everyone else in the industry uses; press (insert acronym for stability control system) button for partial disable, hold it down for 15 seconds for full disable.

True, but I don't think Lexus wants you to turn it off. Especially if you've just made your tires jet focking black. :confused:
