You drove 'em on public streets. Boring.
I drove one last Thursday (alone) on the track. Top that! :D

There are over 1000 (closer to 2000) unsold M5's sitting in dealer's lots. Anyone who pays $25K over is really stupid. For a few phone calls, one can easily get an M5 for MSRP. The E60 M5 is not going to be a cherished, high value car. It will depreciate just like all the others.
It just fries me when a saleperson is offering an M5 for only $25K over MSRP......Let's see...M5 MSRP about $90K + $25K greed = $115K. Then you drive the car off the lot and suddenly the car is worth about $85K. Wow, that 1st mile is a killer....only $35K up in smoke to drive that 1st mile. No thanks.
I don't work for BMW.
If anyone is really interested in an M5 at MSRP, drop me an email and I can hook you up with a nice salesperson. They have 2 unfilled allocations.
Hello Jon....long time, no see....missed Bimmerfest last year, but planning on Bimmerfest 2006.

Do you forget how many dealers were getting $10K over MSRP for E46 M3's? Dealers will sell their inventory for whatever the market will bear. Sure, the E60 M5 isn't a "collectible" vehicle, but it will be in high demand (much like the Z8) for years to come.
I remember the first Miatas, with a $13K sticker, going for $20K. That identical car is worth about $2K today....

Glad to hear you dealership allows employees to drive M5s...and then wants $25K premium on a car that's been driven....

Generally speaking... your opinion is just that... yours. And I respect your right to have that opinion...
BUT...
...In the future please refrain from stating Completely Bogus Information on bimmerfest... or anywhere for that matter. What you said is completely untrue.
At this moment there are 30 M5's available in inventory nationwide.
To say otherwise would be a LIE. Please don't LIE.
Thanks.

I just bought one, at MSRP, off the showroom floor on Wednesday. What an AWESOME car!!! Finally an M5 that I can love as much as I loved my E34 M5. I was not a fan of the suspension in the E39 M5. Plus, in this context, I still have $25k to do whatever.

I had posted a post that basically said " there are more m5s in the pipeline but are being held back to keep demand high and also who would pay a extra 25k for a M5 that was driven my a employee of the dealer prob. driven hard" and speedfreak replied to that post " exactly"
both of those posts are gone

Yeah. I noticed the same thing even before seeing your question on the other forum.
Why would those posts gets deleted in a thread that should have probably been locked in the first place? Meaning, Jon's reply in post #2.

Very strange. Why did this happen? Bruce?
I don't remember exactly what was said... my response of exactly was regarding the $25k over MSRP. Though there are many who are willing to do that... on a personal level... I would not. If I were Bill Gates and had more money then one could imagine... I might have a different position... but... I don't.
