Used Cat Converter?

I have a cat. going bad on my 2000 528. I have over 80k so no warranty. I found quite a few used. ANyone given this path a try? It will save me 1600 bucks

have you tried ebay, or rockauto.com?

as far as used ones go, i've never done so myself, but there's no reason you couldn't. it just won't have the same lifespan as one bought brand new.

I rebuilt my broken cat once, took almost 4 hours. Was worth it and the used one is still good....
