My brother just had his delivered yesterday. Dealer told him not to take it over 5500 rpm or 100 mph for 1200 miles. Then not over 6500-7000 rpm until reaching the 3000 mile mark. That's so not right, it's like putting a steak in front of a hungry lion expecting it not to eat the steak. Damn you break in procedure...damn you to hell for eternity.

I agree, I rather watch my RPM and speed for 1200 or 3500 miles and enjoy this "beast" longer, instead of pushing it harder than I should for a couple (or triple) thousand miles. Do you want your steak done right cooking it slowly or turn the fire up and ruin it's taste?

Too funny... :) . Don't get me wrong, he followed the procedure to the T. One new problem though, he's at 1100 miles and his VANOS hose broke yesterday. I was hoping on getting a real/non break in ride in the beast this Christmas weekend. Might not happen thanks to some dik named Vanos :tsk:

Take a weekend road trip to Las Vegas and toss the dice and come home and you can drive that thing as fast as you please

Or you could use this method for more power and less wear.
