Ipod and Navigation

I read some of the previous discussions regarding the limitations of ipod and nav, and I'm still confused.......

Is there anyway to display ipod playlists or songs on the navigation screen?

Can you control the ipod with the steering wheel controls?

What third party devices will I need to do this?
