: Anyone try Autowerks Stage 1 speaker upgrade

I really want something to improve the sound in my 2004 325i but I want something simple that will bolt in to the OEM stuff. Does anyone have any experience with Autowerks "Bavarian Soundwerks" package? It looks like what I need. It seems like it bolts right on. I like the Rainbow speakers because they seem more natural than Poly speakers. Please, any experience with these is appreciated. Thank you.

They sell some good drivers, but the kits that use the factory midrange are suspect, in my opinion.

I just put in the BSW stage 1 in my 2003 330Ci. I just did the speaker upgrade (MB Quarts) and let me tell ya, IT ROCKS!

The install was fairly easy being that I have never done this type of stuff before. Total amount of time it took me was around 4 hours! Instructions were very good and easy to follow. I didnt have to call tech support, but I have heard they are the best and know BMW's very well (BSW that is).

The hardest part, if you call it hard, was getting the new tweeters in. You have to do a little fabbing (not much), and hot glue them into place.

Overall I am extremely impressed by the new sound in every phase of music I have played from rap/r&b to hard rock to classical! This upgrade is a definate must!

BSW = :thumbup:

Also, Bavarian Soundwerks BSW ( is having 10% off everything until December 31st. I got the MB Quarts package for $345 + $22 shipping.

How many speakers come in the package and which ones does it replace?

Did your kit include the mounting rings? I've got a pile of a/d/s/ stuff I took out of my former E39 that I want to install in the E46. This will be my first E46 install and I'm wondering if I need the rings to mount the 5.25" front speakers.

It did come with the rings for the front. I believe that BSW sells them seperately or in the kit (stage 1). Check their website and see.

It came with 8 speakers total. It replaced the front doors 5.25" and Tweeters, the tweeters in the back armrests, as well as the speakers behind the rear headrests.

I have a E46 Coupe btw.
