face life or move on ?

Just got into this site and I’m a big fan and I figured maybe you guys could give me some direction. I have an all factory, manual black on tan’97 328i at just over 100K. Never had any major problems just the common little stuff (small holes in seat, faded radio/computer, etc). If I keep her I’d like to make her look and ride like a new car (don’t want friends making fun of my sled or Honda civics passing me anymore). Based on my research, I figured I can do it at less than 7-8K(about what I willing to spend) but I am no mechanic and I am extremely lazy, so everything would have to be done by someone else. My estimates include fixing the little problems plus new paint (3-4K), ZKW euro ellipsoids, reiger eye lids and angel eyes (1K), M3 mirrors, cooler fog lights, floor mats, black - 17’’ wheels and tires (1.5K), and performance stuff < 3K hopefully.
-Anyone - Let me know if I’m smoking crack on my estimates, If you have any cool ideas, or If it’s not worth the trouble I should just suck it up and move onto the E46.

-Duck I’ve noted many of your performance suggestions but wonder if I can pull them off by just giving my car to a reputable mechanic and ordering new parts instead of digging through junk yards for the next year and will they make my car go to crap in the long run?

Older cars can be expensive if you don't do any of the work yourself; the upgrades won't help if someelse wears out soon. You might be farther ahead by selling it and getting used E46 330i.

Well, I have a 94 318is....just bought ANGEL EYE/ PROJECTOR/ EURO CODE headlights for 220$ INCLUDING shipping! they were 185$. Eyelids are ehhhhh to me but NO more than 100$ you shoud have to pay for them....so around $700 extra you should put that to performance....also, is new paint really needed? I dont no how much it is but im guessing that if u shop around u can find a NICE paint job for 2800-3k. floor mats??? those should be your last concern....basically you really should now have 1500-2000 bucks more for engine....328 manual already moves nicely....u could get a turbo in there (i wouldnt recomend a superchrgr...i thot about it but ive heard that it destroys the life of an engine), headers, exhaust, suspension etc...if you focus on the actual car and less on the little interior stuff...you have a fast fkcn car.....

PS, dont waste your money on a newer E46 330, with the same amount of money you pay for all your upgrades for the 328, you would smoke a 330..plus is .2 litres THAT bigg of a difference?
